Furniture For The Home and Garden

Remember that first apartment after leaving? Loaded with hand-me-down furniture that didn’t match, it might have been a place to live, but it was never home. Mix-matched hand-me-downs rarely ever work to describe who someone is. That’s what makes a place a home, when everything inside is reflective of the people who live there. That is why the right furniture in the right house always feels like home. I can remember my first house. We had two couches since we couldn’t tell anybody no, while we had a hideously cheap dining room table from a discount store. The TV and stand were mine growing up, and our bed frame was found on the side of the road with a sign that said “FREE!” To top it all off, our coffee table and end tables were an expensive matching set that a well-endowed family member gave to us. Eclectic wouldn’t begin to describe it, although the term home would not. Those were just a few of many hard-earned lessons along the way. Through the years we bought our first house, and spent many years making it home. Instead of taking what we could get, we vigilantly watched out for the perfect dining room table or couch that put it all together. They say, “home is where the heart is,” but the perfect furniture really makes a house a home.
